argonaut&wasp – Always

Though ‘Always’ is very much it’s own tune, you can hear the influences loud and clear. At first Pet Shop Boys springs to mind before the chorus kicks in and ¬†argonaut&wasp change tack. The band, hailing from Brooklyn, call it dance pop, with their other output screaming of Chromeo, Simian and other similar sounds. Definitely … Continue reading

Haywyre – Do You Don’t You

Electronic, deep house but with an experimental element that pushes the boundaries of the genre, ‘Do You Don’t You’ has one of the strongest basslines I’ve heard recently and yet uses that aspect as only one small piece of a bigger piece. Once the chorus drops we’re left with a much more disco infused record … Continue reading

LeMarquis – Holding Me, Touching Me

Okay, so sadly not an original… but LeMarqis’ take on Finnebassen’s ‘Touching Me’, something of a house classic, is wonderful. Mixing LeMarquis’ signature pulsing sounds, ‘Holding Me, Touching Me’ has undergone a complete key change, a rap verse and some very tasty live-sounding drums. Check it out.

Julio Bashmore – Holding On feat. Sam Dew

With retro styled beats, pulsing syths and vocals expertly provided by Sam Dew, it almost sounds like this one is sampled, but as far as we know it’s all … Continue reading

Prizm – Perception

Trappy, electronic and experimental beats are the order of the day with Prizm’s new track ‘Perception’. What it lacks in outstanding vocals it truly makes up for in style. I really like how the piano and chord progression fades in. ‘Perception’ is the 2nd track from the French duo’s upcoming EP. Check it out.

Lenno – Wake Up (feat. The Electric Sons)

Big synths, bigger beats, and sweet vocals. These are all pretty integral parts of the majority of Lenno’s tracks, and ‘Wake Up’ is no different. Lenno’s own style of electro is similar to Madeon, poppy but well produced, and pretty damn epic! Fingers crossed for a UK release sometime soon, and hopefully more of the … Continue reading
